Rays vs. Royals Prediction and Odds for Saturday, July 23 (Look to Total for Betting Value)
By Reed Wallach
One of two games with a total in the double digits takes place in Kansas City on Saturday night, but should we expect it?
The Rays took the first of a three game series against the Royals on Friday night, 7-3, and now will look to secure a series victory with Luis Patiño on the mound against Brady Singer of the Royals.
Here are the odds for Saturday's meeting with odds courtesy of WynnBET Sportsbook:
Rays vs. Royals Odds, Run Line, Total

- Royals: +1.5 (-165)
Moneyline:
- Rays:-110
- Royals: -110
Total:

Rays vs. Royals Prediction and Pick
The wind is set to blow out at 14 miles per hour in the blazing hot 102 degrees, but I'm not counting on a shootout.
The Rays will try to reintegrate Luis Patiño, who is making his third appearance of the year after getting hurt back in April. Patino will likely be asked to go through the order twice before passing it along to the Rays bullpen that is seventh in ERA (3.41). The stout bullpen should keep a lid on the Royals middling offense.
On the other side, Singer is one of the bright prospects of the Royals rebuilding rotation, but has struggled with home runs. While that's a concern, this total is still being inflated due to the weather conditions. He is typically a ground ball pitcher (sitting at 50% for his career) and should be able to avoid allowing the Rays to string together hits as long as he keeps that ball inside the park.
Singer has allowed three or less runs in six of his last seven starts and has pitched at least five innings in all but one of those starts. I'm counting on another strong outing from the Royals right hander.
The weather is playing too much of a role in this total, so I'll play against it.
LEAN: UNDER 10 (-110)
