The Red Sox pulled out a close win on Friday and will look to make it tow in a row on Saturday as they get back into the AL East mix.

Boston will have a stiff test on Saturday though with Mariners young stud in George Kirby on the mound. The rookie has been outstanding to start his career, posting a 3.38 ERA with pinpoint control thus far.

Can he keep it up against one of the hottest lineups in baseball? Here are the odds from WynnBET Sportsbook:

Red Sox vs. Mariners Odds, Run Line, Total

Run Line:

  • Red Sox: +1.5 (-190)
  • Mariners: -1.5 (+150)

Moneyline:

  • Red Sox: +115
  • Mariners: -125

Total: 8 (Over -120/Under +100)

Red Sox vs. Mariners Prediction and Pick

Boston's recent stretch has put them over .500 at 31-28 and far away from last place in the AL East that they occupied briefly early in the season. On the year, the Red Sox are seventh in slugging percentage and are paced by a top 3 offense over the last month.

However, they may struggle to put runs on the board with Kirby on the mound. The rookie is walking less than a batter per 9 innings and is striking out nearly 9 per 9. He has even been on the wrong side of some negative variance in the field, allowing a .297 batting average in balls in play, but his ability to generate soft contact can keep this to a low scoring affair.

I don't want to back Seattle as favorites against the scorching Red Sox, though, especially with an in form Michael Wacha starting for Boston. While his FIP is nearly 2 runs higher than his ERA (1.99 vs. 3.76) I trust him to keep a lid on the Mariners offense that benefits from a high walk rate. The team is top 10 in on-base percentage, but bottom half of baseball in batting average. With Wacha's strong command (less than 3 walks per 9), I expect another low scoring meeting.

LEAN: UNDER 8 (+100)
