Red Sox vs. Mariners Prediction and Odds for Sunday, June 12 (Expect a Runs Bonanza)
By Joe Summers
The 27-32 Seattle Mariners host the 31-29 Boston Red Sox at 4:10 PM EST in the final matchup of a three-game series after the teams split the first two contests.
Robbie Ray pitches for Seattle, bringing a 5-6 record and 4.97 ERA into today's matchup. He's struggled of late, amassing a 6.11 ERA over his last five starts as the Mariners are just 2-3 in those games.
Boston counters with Kutter Crawford, making his second career start and first of 2022. Crawford has an 8.44 ERA over eight bullpen appearances in the majors this year and compiled a 7.43 ERA over four minor league starts.
Can Seattle notch a series victory or will Boston rally around Crawford to win for the ninth time in 11 tries?

Red Sox vs Mariners Prediction and Pick
Neither pitcher inspires much optimism for me. Robbie Ray is a far cry from the AL Cy Young winning season he put together a year ago.. He's in just the seventh percentile in average exit velocity and takes on a potent Red Sox lineup that's been among the league's best since May.
The over is 8-2-1 in Ray's last 11 starts and 11-6-1 when the Mariners are a favorite. I expect those trends to continue, especially with Kutter Crawford opposing Ray. Having a cool name is about the only thing Kutter Crawford has going for him, if I'm being honest. He was terrible in his brief stint in the majors and terrible in his few starts in the minors.
Crawford has a 7.98 expected ERA, which would easily be the worst in MLB if he had enough innings to qualify. Seattle ranks seventh in OPS against right-handed pitchers over the last two weeks. To make matters worse, Crawford has only pitched more than three innings once this year, so the Red Sox will have to rely on one of the league's worst bullpens in heavy doses.
Seattle's bullpen is no good either, ranking in the bottom-10 in the league in ERA. With two struggling pitchers, two potent lineups, and two bad bullpens, I'm loving the over in this series finale.
Pick: Over 8.5 (-105)
