Red Sox vs. Rays Prediction and Odds (Trust Tampa Bay at Home to Beat AL East Rivals)
By Matt De Saro
The Tampa Bay Rays look to even things up with the Boston Red Sox after dropping game one of this three-game set 4-3. The pair remain tied at 7-7 and occupy third place in the AL East. Tonight, one of them will slide into second.
Friday night was a big win for the Red Sox after dropping two of their last three games against the Toronto Blue Jays. The Red Sox were outscored 9-3 in the last two games of that series and needed to turn things around in a hurry. The Rays, meanwhile, came into this series after beating the Cubs in back-to-back games. But, they have to start all over again tonight if they hope to build a winning streak.
Garrett Whitlock will get the start for Boston while J.P. Feyereisen will toe the rubber for the Rays in this home game.

Red Sox vs. Rays Prediction and Pick
Despite a decent start to the year, the Red Sox have to feel disappointed out of the gate. They were hoping to vie for the top spot in the division all season long.
Now, they are in danger of falling out of the top 3. The big issue has been their hitting. It just isn’t quite there yet. The Red Sox are 17th in runs scored this season and will need to pick up the pace if they hope to turn things around. But, hitting isn’t their only issue. The Yankees ranked 24th in that category and still are having a better year than both the Red Sox and Rays so far. The Red Sox also have the 20th worst team ERA at 3.82 and have given up 16 home runs in 14 games.
I will be riding the home team tonight as I don’t fully trust the Red Sox on either side of the ball. The Rays aren’t perfect by any stretch of the imagination. But, at these odds, I think they are well worth a play on the money line.
Play: Rays -120
