After consecutive one-run losses, the 1-2 Cincinnati Reds aim for a series split as they take on the 2-1 Atlanta Braves today at 1:35 p.m. EST.

One of the most-hyped high school baseball players in history will make his major league debut as Hunter Greene takes the mound for the Reds. When he was 17, Sports Illustrated made him its cover athlete with the title "Baseball's LeBron or Babe Ruth?" - it's safe to say expectations are a bit high.

Ian Anderson will take the hill for the Braves and is no stranger to high expectations. He amassed a 3.58 ERA across 24 starts in his first full season in the big leagues last year and hopes to build off an excellent postseason that saw him surrender just three runs over 17 innings.

Will Greene's first start live up to the hype or will Anderson and Atlanta play spoiler?

Reds vs Braves Prediction and Pick

Greene has had a few hiccups on his way to the majors, most notably needing Tommy John surgery after the 2018 Futures Game.

But "LeBron Ruth" (maybe it'll catch on) was such a hyped prospect for a reason - his stuff is dangerously electric.

Greene struggled at times in the minors, but closed 2021 by giving up three or fewer runs in eight of his final 10 starts.

It's unfortunate for him, then, that his first start has to come against Ian Anderson. As great as he's been early in his career, I'm expecting a step forward for the 23-year old former third overall draft pick. He didn't allow more than four runs a single time last season and gave up 2 or fewer in six of his final nine.

I have a lot of faith in Greene's potential and Anderson is one of the best young arms in the game. We should see an fantastic duel between these young studs and as a result, I love the under in this one.

Pick: Under 9.0 (-110)
