Reds vs. Cardinals Prediction and Odds for Friday, July 15 (Bet on Runs on Friday)
By Reed Wallach
The Cardinals are looking to stay in the mix of the NL Central heading into the All-Star break behind MVP candidate Paul Goldschmidt.
St. Louis gets a favorable matchup against struggling rookie, Reds' Hunter Greene. Greene throws as hard as anyone in the league already, but has struggled with his control and keeping the ball in the park. Can Goldschmidt and co. get to him?

Reds vs. Cardinals Prediction and Pick
Greene has a promising career in store if he can figure out his control, but right now he's still a ways off. He has allowed a big league high 22 home runs this season and has an ERA of 5.70. He is striking out more than 11 batters per 9 innings, but his K/BB ratio is below three.
While St. Louis has tailed off this month, 23rd in wRC+ since the beginning of July, they will relish the chance to face Greene. The team does their best work against fastballs and are a disciplined group at the plate, above league average in walks. I expect this to be a get right spot for Goldschmidt and the Cards offense.
On the other side, the Reds are coming off a series victory against the vaunted Yankees and face Andre Pallante, a converted reliever. He is starting to show his inexperience on the mound, posting a 5.46 ERA over the last month. I'm not counting on a clean outing from him against Cincinnati who is swinging a collective good bat of late.
The Cards are clearly the superior team, but I'm not interested in taking a side with Pallante on the mound, so I'll look to the over instead with Greene's an erratic pitcher.
LEAN: OVER 9 (-105)
