Tuesday night Atlantic 10 basketball is back in action tonight when the Rhode Island Rams head to New York to take on the St. Bonaventure Bonnies.

The Bonnies were expected to be a contender for the conference title but have been a relative disappointment at 17-7. They currently sit in fourth in the A-10 with a 9-4 record in conference play. Rhode Island, meanwhile, is struggling to stay above .500 with a 13-12 overall record as they head off to face their rivals tonight.

The Rams have lost eight of their last nine games overall and are on a two-game losing streak. The Bonnies, on the other hand, have reeled off five straight wins heading into this conference showdown and appear locked in to finish the season strong.

Here are the odds for this Atlantic 10 brawl, courtesy of WynnBET Sportsbook.

Rhode Island vs. St. Bonaventure Prediction and Pick

This matchup, as most are for the Rams, is going to be a tough one. Right off the bat, they have nothing at all to play for other than pride.

But, after starting the year 12-4 and then going 5-3 when it mattered, there might not be much pride left to play for either. The Rams have one a single conference game in their last nine tries and the Bonnies are much better than their record suggests.

One thing that really surprised me to see is that the Rams actually have the 33rd best-ranked scoring defense in the nation. They do a phenomenal job at holding opponents to a two-point shooting percentage of just 43.5 percent and overall rank 11th with an opponent shooting percentage of just 38.5.

However, their offense continues to hold them back and play hot white-hot garbage most nights. They rank 254th in scoring offense and shoot around 50 percent from two. But, the most glaring issue is the free-throw shooting. The Rams rank 352nd in that category with an FT shooting percentage of just 64.1 percent. The Bonnies rank 36th in the nation at 76.3 percent.

These are the kinds of splits that win or lose games for bettors and I am taking the side of the team that has the fundamentals of basketball down.

Lean: St. Bonaventure -9 (-110)
