Rockies vs. Marlins Odds and Prediction for Friday, July 21
The Miami Marlins were firmly inside the National League wild card picture, but after going 2-8 in their last 10 games, including a six game losing streak, they're now on the outside looking in.
Luckily, they're set to begin a weekend series at home against the worst team in the NL, the Colorado Rockies.
Let's take a look at the odds for the series opener and then I'll give you my best bet.
Rockies vs. Marlins odds, run line, and total
Rockies vs. Marlins prediction and pick
If you weren't already convinced to take the Marlins at home against the Rockies, let me make the case for why you should bet on them to not only win, but cover the -1.5 run line.
Braxton Garrett gets the start for the Marlins, and what's even more important than his 3.90 ERA is the fact that he's a lefty. The Rockies have struggeld against lefties all season long. In fact, they rank dead last in the Majors in OPS against lefties this season at just .667. That's especially bad when you consider half their games are played at Coors Field, a hitters paradise.
Speaking of Coors Field, you can feel free to bet against the Rockies whenever they aren't playing there. They're the road team in the National League, sporting just a 14-33 record when playing away from their home ball park.
The Marlins, meanwhile, are an impressive 30-18 at home.
Let's go ahead and take the Marlins to win with margin tonight.
