Rockies vs. Padres Game 1 Prediction and Odds for Tuesday, August 2 (Back Darvish at Home)
By Joe Summers
Bolstered by the acquisition of star reliever Josh Hader from the Brewers yesterday, San Diego is officially all-in this season and hope to get off to a stellar start in August today with a double-header against Colorado.
Yu Darvish will pitch the first game, bringing a 1.94 home ERA into the contest. He's thrown a quality start in 10 of his last 12 outings though the Padres have lost four of six behind him.
The Rockies turn to Ryan Feltner after losing his last four starts. Feltner has a 6.08 ERA on the road, but did throw three scoreless innings against the Dodgers last week.
Can Darvish get back on track at home or will Feltner finally pick up another win? Let's check out the odds from WynnBET Sportsbook to help find out ahead of this Rockies vs Padres matchup:

Rockies vs Padres Game 1 Prediction and Pick
Yu Darvish is a dominant pitcher at home and I expect a strong performance from him this afternoon. San Diego is 6-3 over his last nine starts at PETCO Park as he's 5-1 with a 1.94 ERA at his home field.
Colorado is a pathetic 2-10 in its last dozen games as a road underdog and lost each of Ryan Feltner's last five road starts. Feltner spent most of July in the minors after a miserable June in which he compiled an 8.64 ERA, and I don't have faith he's suddenly become a good pitcher. Just look at his MLB Statcast Pitching Profile:
Not good, especially against a Padres squad that's won five of seven as home favorites.
I trust Darvish far more than I trust Feltner. With a rejuvenated clubhouse after the Hader trade, San Diego should win handily. Back the Padres on the run line as Darvish's home excellence continues.
Pick: Padres -1.5 (-125)
