The San Diego Padres are having quite the day, as they are playing a doubleheader with the Colorado Rockies and reportedly agreed to a deal for superstar Juan Soto ahead of the trade deadline.

Not a bad day to be a Padres fan.

San Diego will send one of its top prospects, Reiss Knehr, to the mound against Rockies starter Jose Urena (1-3, 4.67 EA) in Game 2 of this doubleheader.

Here are the odds via DraftKings:

Rockies vs. Padres Odds, Run Line and Total

Run Line:

  • Rockies +1.5 (-130)
  • Padres -1.5 (+110)

Moneyline:

  • Rockies: +155
  • Padres: -180

Total:

  • 8.5 (Over -110/Under -110)

Rockies vs. Padres Prediction and Pick

The Padres are already riding high off the Soto acquisition, and I think they have an easy matchup on their hands against Urena.

After a solid start with Colorado, Urena has been rocked in his last two starts, allowing 16 runs (12 earned) over 8.1 innings pitched.

The Padres won’t have too much of a diminished roster by the Soto deal, as they mainly gave up top prospects to bring the superstar to San Diego.

The Rockies are just 3-7 in their last 10 games and have been awful on the road this season, going just 16-31.

I’m all over San Diego in the second game of this doubleheader.

Lean: Padres -1.5 (+110)
