Colorado keeps finding ways to win in the early going of this MLB season.

After a 6-4 comeback victory in Game 1 of this series, the 3-1 Rockies hope to keep it rolling as they take on the 1-3 Texas Rangers today at 8:05 PM EST.

Chad Kuhl takes the mound for Colorado in this one. He amassed a 4.82 ERA over 80 innings last year but looked dreadful in the spring, giving up eight runs in just 5.1 innings of work.

Texas sends out Martín Pérez to start today. The 31-year-old lefty had a 4.74 ERA in 114 innings in 2021 and was solid in his lone spring training start.

Can the Rangers get back in the win column or will Colorado pull out another win today?

Rockies vs Rangers Prediction and Pick

Chad Kuhl has split time between being a starter and a reliever over his career but hopes he can hang onto a rotation spot in Colorado this year. He excels at preventing hard contact but has struggled with command, surrendering a ton of walks that lead to trouble.

If the Rangers stay disciplined at the plate, they could take advantage of Kuhl's command problems and get to the Rockies' bullpen quickly.

But Colorado can get to Pérez, too. He's had success as a reliever but really struggled as a starter last year. He can be hit hard, and his underlying metrics are poor.

These offenses are hot and after yesterday's extra innings game, I expect a lot of runs. For the second straight day, I'm going over. With two inconsistent pitchers and two lineups that can take advantage, we should see a high-scoring contest.

Pick: Over 10 (-120)
