The soccer world was shaken to its core when Switzerland upset France in the 2020 UEFA European Football Round of 16.

France, who was the betting favorite at the beginning of the Group Stage as well as at the start of the Knockout Stage, was left stunned when it fell to the Swiss via penalty kicks at the end of extra time.

With France eliminated, the odds boards were significantly adjusted. Not only is England now the favorite to win the Euro, but the odds to be named Player of the Tournament have also shifted rapidly. A handful of French players were formerly at the top of the odds board to win the award, and so was Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo, who was eliminated by Belgium.

Romelu Lukaku set as new betting favorite

Romelu Lukaku of Belgium is the new betting favorite to be named the Best Player of the Tournament at +650. He’s tied for the lead with all players who remain in the tournament in goals with three.

Belgium got by a tough Portugal team in the first round, and now it has just as tough of a contest when they take on Italy in the quarterfinals. Belgium has the toughest path to the finals among all teams, but if you think Belgium will be crowned champions of Europe, Lukaku to be named the best player of the tournament is the bet to make.

Raheem Sterling can lead England to first Euro win

England has yet to win a European Championship, but after beating Germany in the Round of 16 as well as France falling to the Swiss, England is now set as the +300 favorite to win it all. England also has the easiest path to the finals, as it is on the weaker side of a bracket and is a beneficiary of Ukraine pulling off an upset win over Sweden in the first round.

If you think England will win but you want better value than +200, Sterling to be named the Best Player of the Tournament at +800 is a fantastic alternative bet to make.
