What looked to be a potential terrific leaping outfield catch in right field turned into a moment nobody wanted to see.

Braves right fielder Ronald Acuña Jr. left Saturday's game after injuring his knee in the 5th inning against the Marlins in Miami.

The 22-year old underwent an MRI that showed a complete tear of his right ACL and will be out the remainder of the season and potentially some of 2022 as well.

Acuña was in the midst of another terrific season in Atlanta with 24 HR, 52 RBI, and leading the National League with 72 runs scored. His OPS+, a metric that evaluates on-base percentage plus slugging percentage while adjusted to the players' ballparks, was the highest of his career at 156. He was even the favorite at WynnBET to take home National League MVP honors through the first few months of the season at +225.

With Acuña in the lineup, the Braves have been inconsistent all season, hovering around .500 at the All Star break. Over at WynnBET, Atlanta was listed just 10 days ago at +2500 to win the World Series. Now that Acuña is done for the year, the Braves' World Series odds have plummeted to +6000, with their National League Pennant odds falling to +3000.

Even during Atlanta's slow start, they were still listed at minus-odds to make the postseason as well as being +900 through May 12 to win the World Series.

The Braves will have a daunting task to contend for a title without their best player, but they remain in a winnable N.L. East division and could be among teams making moves at the trade deadline. A play at +6000 for a second-place team that was near +900 just a few months ago could be a potential hedge investment if they make a second half run.
