The Seattle Mariners continue to impress with a firm grip on the AL West at 9-6 to start the year; shaking off a slow start and have now won five of their last six games overall.

Today, the M’s play their series finale against the Kansas City Royals as they look for a three-game sweep. Seattle won the first two games by a combined score of 17-8 after an explosion at the plate in their last few games.

The Royals, on the other hand, are 5-8 on the year and currently sit in last place in the AL Central. They are on a three-game losing streak and have been let down time and time again by their offense. Can they turn it around today and avoid another sweep?

Royals vs. Mariners Prediction and Pick

The Royals' offense is currently playing like a mountain of hot garbage. They are hitting just .215 on the year with an average of three runs scored per game. Both figures rank them at the bottom of the league. But, the Royals are a bottom-five offense across the board. They rank 28th in RBIs, 29th in walks, and strike out more than any other team in the league.

This would be a big enough problem if it weren’t for their awful pitching staff. Not only are the Royals one of the worst offenses in the league, but their team ERA of 4.77 ranks 25th in the MLB.

Today’s starter, Carlos Hernandez, has been a big part of that problem. Hernandez brings in a 7.27 ERA and 1.96 WHIP in his two starts this season.

This feels like a good spot to grab the value that Seattle has on the runline and fade one of the worst teams in baseball.

Pick: Mariners -1.5 (+100)
