Royals vs. Orioles Doubleheader Prediction and Odds for Sunday, May 8 (Fade Struggling Offenses)
By Peter Dewey
The Baltimore Orioles have won back-to-back games heading into their doubleheader with the Kansas City Royals on Sunday afternoon.
The Royals, on the other hand, have lost seven of their last 10 games and have a minus-39 run differential entering this matchup.
Neither of these teams will make the playoffs in 2022 barring some unforeseen turnaround, but who has the edge in these two matchups?
Here are the odds for both games via WynnBET:

Royals vs. Orioles Prediction and Pick
Neither of these teams has been strong on offense this season, as the Royals have scored just 70 runs in 23 games, and the Orioles have scored 88 in 28 games.
Both of these teams rank at the bottom of the league in OPS as well, as the Orioles are 22nd in the league and the Royals are 28th.
However, both teams are also in the bottom 10 in the league in ERA this season.
Zack Greinke, who is starting Game 1 for the Royals, has been arguably the team’s best starter, posting a 2.57 ERA this season. He’s taking on Jordan Lyles, who has a 4.50 ERA and has allowed four homers so far this season.
I don’t mind the Royals on the moneyline in Game 1 because of the pitching matchup.
However, in Game 2, Daniel Lynch and Bruce Zimmerman are facing off and I think the move is to take the under with two average pitchers going up against two of the worst hitting teams in the league.
I think we see these two teams split these games, so a bet on the Orioles in Game 2 isn’t a bad call either.
Lean(s): Game 1: Royals ML (-105) | Game 2: UNDER 7 (-115)
