The Ohio State Buckeyes are back to being the Ohio State we all thought they were; blowing out Wisconsin and scoring 52 points against their highly touted defense.

Their opponent this week, Rutgers, is 3-1 this year, but is still looking for their first conference win of 2022. Can the Scarlet Knights pull off the massive upset at home, or is Ohio State going to roll through the Big Ten once again?

Rutgers vs. Ohio State Prediction and Pick

Ohio State absolutely destroyed the Wisconsin defense last week. C.J. Stroud looks as good as advertised if not better to this point. He threw for five touchdowns and 281 yards on just 17 completions against the Badgers, but it was the running game that really dominated for the Buckeyes in Week 4.

TreVeyon Henderson ran the ball 21 times for 121 yards and Miyan Williams went for 101 and two touchdowns on 11 carries. Their unit is second in the country in total offense, 12th in passing offense and 18th on the ground. Henderson and Williams are just as scary as Stroud right now and that means the Buckeyes are going to be a problem for every team in the country. That includes Rutgers.

I’ve gone this long without even mentioning all the receivers that the Buckeyes have. Stroud has thrown for 1,222 yards, 16 touchdowns, and just one pick so far this season and hasn’t even had Jaxon Smith-Njigba on the field for much of it. Emeka Egbuka, Marvin Harrison Jr. and Cade Stover have been the top three targets this year and are all incredibly dynamic.

Rutgers needed Evan Simon to throw the ball 49 times last week against Iowa and even though he threw for 300 yards, they only managed 10 points.

There is no chance that Rutgers will be able to keep pace with Ohio State even at home this weekend. Even if the Buckeyes sleep walk through this game they have the ability to cover a 41 point spread.

PICK: Ohio State -40.5 (-112)
