One of the best teams in the NHL will take on one of the worst teams on Sunday night when the Colorado Avalanche take on the Buffalo Sabres.

The Avalanche have won an astounding nine-straight games heading into tonight's matchup, and there's no reason to believe they won't make it ten-straight tonight. Buffalo is 4-5-1 in its last 10 games, but managed to win its last game out, beating the Coyotes 3-1 on Saturday.

This will serve as the first of two meetings between these teams this season. Let's take a look at the odds via WynnBET.

Sabres vs. Avalanche Prediction and Pick

I'm aware that the Avalanche are likely the best team in the NHL, and the Sabres are far from being a contender, but the odds for this game are beyond ridiculous. I'm not saying to take the Sabres to win outright at +450 (bet $100 to profit $450), but with the puck line set at 2.5, i'll plug my nose and take the Sabres.

The Avs record in their last 10 games is a little bit deceiving. During that stretch, they're sixth in CORSI%, 13th in high danger scoring chances, and 17th in high danger scoring chances against. Don't get me wrong, those are solid numbers, but they're not as good as you'd expect from a team that's 9-0-1 in those games.

The Avalanche should certainly win this game, but we're getting -105 (bet $105 to profit $100) odds on the Sabres to at least keep it to a two-goal game? I'll take that bet any day of the week.

Pick: Sabres +2.5 (-105)
