The Saint Louis Billikens take on their second ranked opponent of the 2022-23 season on Sunday when they play the undefeated Auburn Tigers.

The Tigers are currently No. 13 in the country, and Bruce Pearl’s team has looked great at the defensive end, ranking ninth adjusted defensive efficiency and opponent effective field goal percentage.

Saint Louis comes into this game at 5-1 behind the No. 16 adjusted offensive efficiency in the country, but got blown out by No. 23 Maryland in its other matchup against a ranked team.

Saint Louis vs. Auburn Prediction and Pick

The total for this game is all the way up near 150, yet the Tigers have played a ton of low-scoring games this season, including a 43-42 win over Northwestern in their last game.

Auburn has gone OVER this number just once all season long, and even though the Billikens have a strong offense, I don’t think the Tigers make things easy on them today.

Auburn leads the country in block percentage and is one of the best teams at limiting opponents from beyond the arc. When you don’t allow easy baskets at the rim or 3s, you’re going to have an elite defensive unit.

On the offensive side, the Tigers have just one player averaging double figures this season (Wendell Green) compared to Saint Louis with four.

That being said, I don’t see the Tigers playing uptempo (they’re 130th in the country in adjusted tempo) and allowing the Billikens to beat them by filling it up.

I’ll go UNDER until someone shows that they can get to this Auburn defense.
