Saint Mary's vs. San Diego Prediction and Odds (Gales Go For Season Sweep vs. Toreros)
By Matt De Saro
Saint Mary’s has one more hurdle to cross before their final game of the regular season at home against top-ranked Gonzaga. That hurdle is the 14-13 San Diego Toreros who sit in sixth of the West Coast Conference. Maybe it's more of a low slightly broken fence than a hurdle considering the Gaels beat San Diego 86-57 three games back, but look-ahead games are a real thing and this game is the definition of that situation.
The Toreros are nearing the finishing line of a very difficult home stretch and I have my doubts that they can keep this game competitive.

Saint Mary's vs. San Diego Prediction and Pick
If you hadn’t already picked up from the tone early on, I am struggling to find a reason to fade the Gaels here. As a fan of the underdogs, I’d like to bet on San Diego. But they are not getting the right price at all as far as I am concerned.
For starters, they already got destroyed by the Gales this year by 29 points, and it’s not as if that game happened months ago, but exactly two weeks ago. In a similar situation, the Toreros were 14.5 point underdogs and totally blew it. I don’t think the fact that this game is taking place in San Diego will make much difference at all.
Another big problem here is that San Diego is getting blown out by not-so-great teams. Just in their last game, the Toreros lost by 32 points as two-point underdogs to Portland. They were also beaten and suffered blowout losses to Cal Lutheran by 29 and UNLV by 23 earlier in the year.
Give me the Gaels giving 12 here on the road.
Pick: Saint Mary's -12
