Saints vs. Cardinals Prediction: Fade Hurting New Orleans On the Road
The Thursday Night Football train continues this week with New Orleans traveling to the desert to face the Cardinals. Both teams are coming off losses and have had a disappointing start to the season.
At 2-4, they’ll need a long winning streak to get to the edge of the playoff race. Luckily for them, this game isn’t a huge disadvantage for either side.
We’re set to get some stars back in this game, so let’s see what the odds are saying about this matchup.

The Saints have moved from 2.5-point underdogs to 2-point favorites. The total has stayed stagnant at 44.5.
Saints vs. Cardinals Best Bet and Prediction
The Cardinals lost Hollywood Brown to a foot injury, but they are getting DeAndre Hopkins back. He should fit back into the rotation seamlessly and show off his connection with Kyler Murray. Arizona is 16th in yards per game, so it can do a decent job at moving the ball. They’ll just have to be efficient against one of the best red zone teams in the league to truly get the job done.
Arizona has been up and down this season, and while it has a lot of injuries, I like having the better quarterback on a short week.
Right now, the Saints don’t know who their quarterback is for this week’s game. Andy Dalton got hurt in the loss to Cincinnati – even though he came back into the game – and Jameis Winston has remained a limited participant in practice. With uncertainty at the most important position on the field, I’m not feeling the Saints this week.
New Orleans is supposed to be leaning on its defense as well, but that hasn’t happened. The Saints are 29th in opponent points per game this season. If Kyler Murray has a weak defense against him, he will be able to take advantage of it with his favorite target back.
