Utah needed to bounce back after losing Week 1 in the swamp and bounce back they did. A 73-7 win over Southern Utah will do right? I have to think that the Utes are still feeling like their playoff hopes are alive and will need to stay clean against 1-1 San Diego State. The Utes are big favorites at home, so can they beat Brady Hoke’s team or will the Aztec’s rushing attack keep it close?

San Diego State vs. Utah Prediction and Pick

Both teams got big wins against lesser opponents in Week 2 after a loss in Week 1. Utah seems to have found their offense after Cam Rising threw for 254 yards and three touchdowns last week. More importantly, they found the defense that was supposed to be one of the most dominant in all of college football. Utah allowed 85 total yards last week.

San Diego State will need to rely on their rushing attack to penetrate the stout defense line of Utah. A week ago, Braxton Burmeister only threw for 108 yards, but frankly he is more of a glorified running back in my eyes. He ran for 80 yards on eight carries, part of the Aztecs’ 380 yards rushing.

San Diego State’s passing defense will not be good enough to stop Rising. That will be the story of the game. We saw Jayden de Laura throw for 299 and four TDs for Arizona in their win against SDSU. Rising is a much better quarterback and I think Utah wins big at home.

Pick: Utah -20.5 (-122)
