San Diego State vs. Wyoming Prediction and Odds (Don't Take the Bait with the Cowboys)

The Wyoming Cowboys put their 13-0 unbeaten streak on the line this evening when they take on the San Diego State Aztecs Monday night at 9 p.m. ET.

Both squads come off dominant wins at home after close losses on the road prior. San Diego State had won five straight before their one-point loss at Boise State, whereas Wyoming had won six straight before losing two of their last four away from home.

This will be just the second time all year Wyoming has been an underdog at home, covering against the spread in that game. Can they do it again tonight?

San Diego vs. Wyoming Prediction and Pick

I went over this pick in detail on today's episode of "Bet & Breakfast" which you can check out below along with our "best bets" of the day.

Ultimately, this feels like a bit of a trap line from the oddsmakers at WynnBET.

Wyoming has the better record, the higher standings in conference play, they're undefeated at home, and on a nationally televised stage in a huge game in Laramie, they're a short home dog.

So what gives?

San Diego State is the No. 1 KenPom adjusted defensive efficiency team not just in the Mountain West, but in all of college basketball this season. They've given up more than 70 points twice this year. That's it! Two times.

Wyoming has had a fantastic season and their offense is one of the most efficient in the country; top 31 in KenPom adjusted offensive efficiency. But the issue I see against a team like San Diego State is their slow pace. If the Cowboys liked to get up and down the court, forcing San Diego State into transition defense throughout the night, I'd bet on Wyoming with this line. But because the Cowboys rank in the 300's in average possession length and in the mid 270's in pace, this feeds right into San Diego State getting set defensively, and taking away efficient and open shots from Wyoming.

I initially grabbed this line at -1, but I'd bet it up to -2.

PICK: San Diego State -1.5 (-110)
