San Francisco vs. Arizona State Prediction and Odds: Dons Looking to Bounce Back After First Loss of the Season

The San Francisco Dons have been one of the more surprising teams to start the season with a 10-1 record heading into this game against ASU.

The Arizona State Sun Devils will host the San Francisco Dons the evening in what should prove to be a tight game from wire to wire. The Dons are off to a white-hot start and were one of the last unbeaten teams in the nation until losing yesterday to Grand Canyon in the Jerry Colangelo Classic. Making things even more brutal is the fact that the Dons lost but just one point. Despite their 10 game winning streak to start the season, the Dons are just 3-7 against the spread and are struggling to cover single-digit spreads.

Arizona State presents the Dons with a new challenge as the first Power 5 team they will face this season. However, they are a pretty bad example of a Power 5 program this season after an awful 5-6 start.

The Sun Devils were suffering through a five-game losing streak before reeling off three straight wins over Oregon, Grand Canyon and Creighton. Their game against Grand Canyon was close and this bodes well for a tight game between these two teams.

San Francisco vs. Arizona State Prediction and Pick

I am expecting this to be one of the better matchups today and I really like San Francisco to continue their winning ways. I am slightly put off by they being on the second half of a back-to-back and coming off a loss. However, on paper, they are better all-around and the Sun Devils are still struggling to put their pieces together.

Not only does ASU’s record stink but it is completely unable to score points on teams good or bad this year. It ranks 280th in the nation in points per game and 300th in effective field goal percentage at 45.1. The Suns Devils 116th ranked defense wont be able to save them and they have a lot of work ahead of them to remain competitive in the Pac-12.

Give me the Dons to bounce back and cover against a pretty underwhelming Arizona State squad.

Pick: San Francisco -3 (-110)
