Sanderson Farms Championship Best Bets
Scott Stallings +2900
The Sanderson Farms Championship is similar to the Fortinet Championship from two weeks ago, in that it's a shorter course that demands precision with your wedges and short irons. Specifically, the distance from 100-125 is the most important, as we see significantly more shots from that distance than we do the average PGA Tour event.
Scott Stalling finished 15th on the Tour last season in average proximity to the hole from that 25-year distance, and he's historically had strong results at this event. Most notably, he finished 6th here in 2020.
Byeong Hun An +5000
Byeong Hun An had an off 2020 season, which caused him to lose his PGA Tour card. But, last season he went back down to the Korn Ferry Tournament and found his game. He re-earned his card, and now he's back with a vengeance.
He finished T4 at the first event of the season, and most notably, he finished the week with the second closest proximity to the hole from 100-125 yard approaches amongst all golfers who made the cut. Based on his performance two weeks ago, and how well he looked on the Korn Ferry Tour, +5000 is a great price in a weak-field event.
Seonghyeon Kim Top 20 +600
Seonghyeon Kim stumbled on the weekend at the Fortinet Championship, finished T36 after a final round 73. With that being said, he finished third in strokes gained: putting amongst all golfers who made the cut. Based on that stat alone, I love him to finish in the top 20 this week at +600 odds.
The PGA Tour rookie could explode onto the scene this year. He's 24 years old, and already has a major win on the Japanese Tour, winning the Japan PGA Championship. Now is the time to buy low on him, before oddsmakers begin to catch on.
