Saquon Barkley Looks Healthy in Latest Workout Video
By Peter Dewey
If the New York Giants are going to make it back to the playoffs for the first time since 2016, Saquon Barkley is going to have to help carry the offense.
Barkley, who tore his ACL just two games into last season, looks as healthy as ever in the latest workout video he posted. That’s great news for Giants fans, as the Giants have been mum on a timetable for Barkley’s recovery this offseason.
WynnBET currently has the Giants with the third-best odds to win the division at +300. New York nearly made the playoffs in 2020 since the NFC East was so bad, and Vegas thinks the Giants will actually be even better in 2021. WynnBET gave the Giants an exact win projection of eight games (+300) heading into this season.
New York was putrid on offense last season, as it finished above only the New York Jets in total yards last season, but the Giants did bring in wideout Kenny Golladay and tight end Kyle Rudolph this offseason.
Barkley, who averaged just 1.8 yards per carry last season before the injury, will certainly welcome an improved passing game that may stop teams from stacking the box against him.
After rushing for 1,307 yards and 11 scores as a rookie, Saquon saw his numbers take a dip in 2019 before the injury last season. Assuming all goes well in hsi recovery, we could witness a breakout season from the former Penn State star.
If you’re really confident in Barkley, you can bet on him to win the NFL’s Comeback Player of the Year, as his odds are set +650 behind only Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott (+185).
