SEC College Basketball Prediction, Odds and Preview
The Alabama Crimson Tide captured its first SEC basketball title since 2002 last year, and now they will try to repeat the feat as they enter the new season ranked No. 14 in the AP Top 25 poll.
The Kentucky Wildcats, who are usually the powerhouse in the SEC, enter the 2021-22 campaign ranked as the top team in the conference at No. 10 in the Ap rankings.
Arkansas, Tennessee, and Auburn should all be in the mix in the conference as well. Let’s take a look at the top 10 odds to win the SEC, courtesy of WynnBET Sportsbook.

Kentucky Re-Tooled After Embarrassing 2020-21 Season
Kentucky finished 9-16 last year and missed the March Madness tournament since the 2012-13 season. John Calipari has re-tooled the team, and it will be a brand new Wildcats team on the court this year.
The team signed three top 40 high school recruits, and also got a handful of transfers from other division one schools. Calipari refuses to allow his team to have another losing record, but there’s no value betting on them to win the SEC at their preseason odds. I need to see it before I believe it with Kentucky this season.
Can Alabama Repeat as Champions?
As I pointed out in my preseason power rankings, Alabama can beat any team in the country when they get hot from beyond the arc. The problem with that is, it’s hard to be hot from three for several consecutive games.
Nate Oats will need to coach this team to be stronger on defense if they want to win back-to-back conference titles, but five-star freshman J.D. Davidson should help them in that area.
SEC Prediction: Arkansas Razorbacks +500
Eric Musselman is one of the best coaches in the country, and he knows how to get the most out of his players. They were one of the feistiest teams in college basketball last season, falling to the eventual champion Baylor in the Elite Eight.
The Razorbacks re-tooled with the transfer portal this offseason, and there’s nothing that shows me they won’t be a contender once again. Arkansas was also one of the best teams to bet on last season, going 20-11 against the spread.
I’ll back Musselman and this Arkansas team to get it done in the SEC this year.
