Seton Hall vs. UConn Prediction and Odds for Big East Tournament Quarterfinal (Huskies Hungry to Advance)
By Matt De Saro
Second round Big East Tournament action hits Madison Square Garden tonight when the Seton Hall Pirates and No. 20 Connecticut Huskies clash. The last time these two teams met, the Huskies won 70-65 while Seton Hall took the first matchup 90-87. So, this rubber match has more on the line than just a win in the conference tournament.
One major knock I have on Seton Hall is the performance they put up against Georgetown last night. Not only did they fail to cover, thanks to that, but they almost lost outright to a Hoyas team that went winless in Big East play this year. It was a miserable game for the Pirates and they were lucky to escape with a win. The Huskies earned a first-round bye and are making their tournament debut tonight.

Seton Hall vs. UConn Prediction and Pick
A chance at the Big East Tournament semifinals is on the line tonight and I think UConn is the team to punch that ticket.
The Pirates’ performance against the Hoyas was downright sad. It bordered on embarrassment as they barely avoided a loss.
The Pirates were playing the best basketball they have been all year before last night. They are on a six-game winning streak and would sure like to prove that last night was a fluke.
As much as I’d like to believe that, UConn is just too good in comparison and this spread is short enough for me to jump on. The Huskies rank within the top 60 in both scoring offense and scoring defense. Additionally, they are fourth in the nation in offensive rebounding.
Ultimately, there is nothing significant that Seton Hall does better and I am going to ride the favorites here.
Pick: UConn Huskies -4 (-110)
