Should Bettors Buy Low on the Philadelphia Eagles Down the Stretch?

If the NFL season were to end today, the Philadelphia Eagles at 4-6 would not make the playoffs. Not much of a surprise.

But that doesn't mean the road to the postseason isn't still available.

The Eagles remained in the hunt with a road victory over the Denver Broncos at Mile High 30-13. While the victory wasn't too surprising, considering sharp money kept moving the line towards Philadelphia all week long at WynnBET Sportsbook, it was how decisive the win was. Just last week, the Broncos shut out the Dallas Cowboys on the road for three quarters, winning outright as 9.5-point road underdogs. This week, the Broncos closed as slight favorites and failed to cover the spread again at home.

With the win, the Eagles remain in second place in the NFC East, still several games back of the division leading Cowboys (7-2), and keeping the distance between themselves and the Washington Football Team and New York Giants, who each have three wins.

Philadelphia Eagles Schedule Sets Up Nicely for the Second Half

This week, the Eagles and Saints opened at a pick 'em at WynnBET despite most books having Philadelphia as 1.5-point favorites. Since then, the line has moved a point back towards the Eagles, and consequently right back down to the Saints. The total currently has held at 44.

I mentioned on the latest episode of the "Bet & Breakfast" podcast (which you can subscribe to below) that while I like the Saints' opportunity this week, especially as an underdog, the Eagles are in an extremely advantageous position the rest of the way.

Between Weeks 12-16, Philly has a complete cakewalk of a schedule; facing the Giants twice, as well as the Jets and the Washington Football Team with a late bye in Week 14.

By the time they face the Cowboys, Dallas will have almost assuredly wrapped up the division, therefore giving the Eagles a chance to go up against backups while they fight for a remaining playoff spot. Even though they're currently in the 10-seed, they're just one game back in the win column from being in contention for the final 7-spot.

While the Eagles don't have a ton of support from the oddsmakers at WynnBET to make a deep postseason run (150/1 to win the NFC, 200/1 to win the Super Bowl), their opportunity to at least get into the playoffs shouldn't be overlooked by bettors interested in an intriguing dart throw for a team that could get hot late into the season.
