Sixers vs. Jazz Prediction and Odds for NBA Summer League (Philadelphia Has Too Much Talent)
By Peter Dewey
The Philadelphia 76ers and Utah Jazz both lost their Salt Lake City Summer League openers on Tuesday night.
However, the Sixers kept things close with the Memphis Grizzlies in a 103-99 loss while the Jazz were blown out by the Oklahoma City Thunder and Chet Holmgren.
The Sixers have a few NBA players on their roster in Isaiah Joe (19 points vs. Memphis) and Paul Reed (20 points, 15 rebounds vs. Memphis).
That should help them against a really inexperienced Jazz team that also doesn’t have Walker Kessler who it traded for in the Rudy Gobert deal.
Here are the odds for this Summer League showdown:
Sixers vs. Jazz Odds, Spread and Total
Spread:
- Sixers -6 (-110)
- Jazz +6 (-110)
Moneyline:
- Sixers: -225
- Jzz: +190
Total:
- 169.5 (Over -110/Under -110)
Sixers vs. Jazz Prediction and Pick
The Jazz really struggled in their first Summer League game, shooting 34.7 percent from the field.
Utah doesn’t have a ton of young talent, especially without Kessler, and whenever a team is led by Kofi Cockburn, Jared Butler and Tacko Fall, I’m going to have a hard time betting on them.
The Sixers have a ton of actual NBA talent on their roster, and they didn’t even play last year’s G League MVP Trevelin Queen in their opener.
As long as Reed, Joe and Charles Bassey continue to play big minutes, the Sixers should be one of the better Summer League teams.
Lean: Sixers -6 (-110)
