The Philadelphia 76ers still have a chance to grab the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference if they win out and get some help along the way.

Tonight, they look to inch closer out of the 4-seed when they head to Toronto to face their possible first round opponent, the Toronto Raptors at Scotiabank Arena at 7:30 p.m. ET.

The Sixers currently hold the four seed, but are tied with the Milwaukee Bucks (3rd place) and are just half a game back of the Boston Celtics. Meanwhile, the Raptors hold a game and a half lead over the Chicago Bulls who have lost three straight.

Both teams come in playing well, with Philly winners of three straight, and Toronto 7-3 in their last 10.

Here's the latest odds for tonight's potential playoff preview over at WynnBET Sportsbook.

Spread:

  • 76ers +1.5 (-110)
  • Raptors -1.5 (-110)

76ers vs. Raptors Prediction and Pick

There's certainly more at stake for the Sixers in this game comparatively than for the Raptors, which may be the case why the consensus line has moved a full point and a half from Sixers +3 to Sixers +1.5. Many other books have already made this a pick 'em as well.

I'll back the Sixers here and will take the discounted short underdog odds over at WynnBET before the number continues to move. They won their previous matchup in Toronto by five, and had one of their worst offensive performances of the season at home against these Raptors back on March 20. Every one of Philly' starters finished with a positive plus/minus, except for James Harden (-1). It was the bench that got ran off the floor by Toronto. Expect some positive regression to the mean tonight.

While it might be too late for Embiid to regain his top spot on the NBA MVP race, but I don't think that will stop him from trying. He's coming off a 45 point, 13 rebound game against the Indiana Pacers, and if he puts up similar numbers against a tough Raptors' defense and beats them soundly, that could raise a few more eyebrows towards a super late push.

I think the Sixers keep rolling as they make a concerted effort to avoid these Raptors in the postseason.

PICK: Sixers +1.5 (-110)
