The WNBA playoffs have been fantastic to watch so far, and the semifinals have not disappointed with both series being tied at one game apiece.

The Chicago Sky and Connecticut Sun will kick-off Sunday’s Game 3 action at 1 p.m. EST at Mohegan Sun Arena. After stealing Game 1 in Chicago, Connecticut is looking to handle business at home and get one step closer to the WNBA Finals.

After a rough Game 1, where they scored just 63 points, the Sky bounced back in Game 2 with five players in double-figures, led by Candace Parker (22 points).

Chicago went undefeated against Connecticut in the regular season, so is it just a matter of time before the Sky turn it on and take control of this series?

Let’s jump into the odds for this crucial Game 3:

Sky vs. Sun Odds, Spread and Total

Spread:

  • Sky +1 (-110)
  • Sun -1 (-110)

Moneyline:

  • Sky: -105
  • Sun: -115

Total:

  • 163.5 (Over -110/Under -110)

Sky vs. Sun Prediction and Pick

Does Chicago have a bit of a bad habit developing?

The Sky underperformed in Game 1 of their first-round series with the New York Liberty, and had to win back-to-back games to advance to the semis against Connecticut.

It’s possible a similar situation is developing in this series, but the Sun are a much better team than New York. Connecticut ranked second in both offensive and defensive rating during the regular season, and it was one of the best home teams in the league, going 13-5 at Mohegan Sun Arena.

The Sky have the advantage in the season-long series between these two teams, but Jonquel Jones did not play great in two of those games, scoring just 11 and 17 points. Jones and Parker are both going to need to step up for their respective teams to win, but role players usually fare much better at home, which I think gives Connecticut a slight advantage.

The Sun fell short last season in the playoffs after dominating the regular season, so I think they come out with a sense of urgency in a practically must-win scenario in Game 3.

Lean: Sun ML (-115)
