An AAC showdown is heading our way in Week 10 when the SMU Mustangs head to Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium to face off against the Memphis Tigers. SMU heads into this game as 5.5-point road favorites with a 7-1 record overall and a 3-1 mark on the road. SMU will be playing mad after losing their first game of the season to Houston and dropping to No. 24 in the nation. 

The Tigers have struggled through most of the year and come into this game with a 4-4 record. Memphis has lost four of their last five games and this week is unlikely to be any different.

This is going to be a troublesome matchup for Memphis. So much so that I question this spread at just 4.5 points. The Mustangs are too deep on both sides of the ball when compared to Memphis. Memphis is also struggling and will be standing in the way of an SMU bounce back after their first loss of the season.  The loss for SMU does nothing to change my opinion and make them a more dangerous team this week I believe. 

Memphis made too many mistakes in the UCF game, giving up four turnovers and allowing 215 yards on the ground. I don’t doubt that this team will score, and even keep pace for a while. But, SMU will pull away and cover this 4.5 point spread.
