South Carolina vs. Mississippi State Prediction and Odds (Buy in on Bulldogs at Home)
By Matt De Saro
The South Carolina Gamecocks take their three-game win streak on the road tonight to take on Mississippi State in SEC action. Meanwhile, the Bulldogs are losers of three of their last four and are in need of a bounce-back game.
It is worth noting that two of those three losses came at the hands of Kentucky and Texas Tech. Two teams ranked in the top 15. South Carolina has also lost their last two games against ranked opponents to Tennessee and Auburn.
At 4-4 in the SEC, the Gamecocks can get above .500 in conference play with a win and start moving up the ladder from the No. 6 spot they currently occupy. This team was expected to be in the basement of the SEC during the preseason and has already impressed with a 13-7 overall record.

South Carolina vs. Mississippi State Prediction and Pick
South Carolina continues to beat teams in the bottom half of the SEC despite being considered a non-factor leading into opening night. They are on a three-game win streak after beating Georgia, Vanderbilt, and Texas A&M. The latter game is particularly impressive as the Gamecocks upset the Aggies as seven-point underdogs on the road. The fact that the Texas A&M game was not at home is notable as it was just the fourth road game the Gamecocks have won all years. Still, the team is 4-14 in their last 18 road games.
The Bulldogs are also beating up on the weaker teams in the SEC after starting the season 10-3. They were able to beat then-No. 24 Alabama earlier this month and many thought that would be the game this team turned the corner. Sadly, that has not been the case as the Bulldogs went on to lose three of their next four games. The Bulldogs will be happy to return home at least after playing their last two games on the road against ranked opponents. They have lost just once at home and are 8-4 against the spread.
From top to bottom, the Bulldogs are a far better team despite dealing with some very tough games lately. In comparison, a game against the Gamecocks will feel like a cakewalk compared to their last week of games. South Carolina will struggle to get rebounds on defense and keep pace with a much more talented offense. Give me the points with the home team here.
LEAN: Mississippi State -8 (-110)
