South Carolina vs. Texas A&M Prediction, Odds, Spread and Over/Under for College Football Week 8
By Matt De Saro
The No. 17 ranked Texas A&M Aggies will play host to the South Carolina Gamecocks in Week 8 in College Station, Texas. The Gamecocks are coming off a win against Vanderbilt that brings their season record to 4-3. However, they are just 1-3 in the SEC and are 5th in the East Division.
Texas A&M is also coming off a win with a victory over the Missouri Tigers that brings their record to 5-2 and 2-2 in the SEC. Let’s not forget that one of those SEC wins came against Alabama who was, at the time, ranked No. 1 in the nation.
With both teams entering this game on short win streaks, somebody is going home with an L. Let’s take a look over the odds and betting trends for this SEC showdown and pick the best bet on the board.

South Carolina vs. Texas A&M Prediction and Pick
Texas A&M is still riding high after knocking off Alabama and cruised to a pretty easy win against Missouri in Week 7. They have covered each game in which they have been double-digit favorites including a 34 point win over New Mexico and a 31 point win over Kent State. This is good news as not all teams have the drive or tenacity to cover such high spreads. Once the game is “in the bag”, a lot of teams let off the gas. It appears the Aggies are not one of those teams.
While stranger things have happened, like the Aggies upsetting the Crimson Tide, I think the chances of an outright upset are slim to none so let’s skip over any moneyline picks here.
The question then is whether or not the Gamecocks can cover +20.5 against a ranked team on the rise? My answer to that would be no. While they did cover +31.5 against Georgia, losing by 27, they failed to keep pace with Tennessee as 10.5 point underdogs and lost by 25.
While the Aggies don’t have the most eclectic offense, their defense, especially on the ground, will be hard for the Gamecocks to overcome.
While I usually shy away from large spreads, I feel good about the Aggies’ chance to build upon a very strong couple of weeks and blow the doors off the Gamecocks.
Prediction: Texas A&M -20.5 (-110)
