South Florida vs. East Carolina Prediction, Odds, Spread and Over/Under for College Football Week 9
By Matt De Saro
The South Florida Bulls hit the road for a game at the Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium tonight to take on their AAC rival Eastern Carolina Pirates.
The Bulls enter this Week 9 matchup with a 2-5 overall record and are 1-2 in games against AAC opponents. Their last game out was an impressive win to Temple 34-14 with the offense totaling 526 yards.
On the flip side, The East Carolina Pirates have been in a rut lately, losing back-to-back games against Central Florida and Houston. The losses dropped the Pirates to 3-4 on the year and 6th in the AAC. The last game saw the Pirates outgain Houston but lose the turnover battle en route to a loss.
So, which of these AAC teams will come out ahead in this game? Here are the odds for this rivalry, courtesy of WynnBET Sportsbook.

South Florida vs. East Carolina Prediction and Pick
One thing that you might not see when looking at the odds for this game is the weather report. As of right now, a nor'easter is sweeping over North Carolina bringing with it high winds, rain, and thunderstorms.
This is of particular interest to me in this game due to the lack of offensive power these two teams present. While USF will likely rely on their running game out their spread attack, the sloppy conditions could slow them down. Jaren Mangham had 152 yards on 26 touches last week with two touchdowns but wasn’t running in a thunderstorm.
ECU will have to rely more on a short pass type of game f the hope to succeed and will be careful not to turn over the ball as much as they did last weekend.
To me, this will be a slow game with a lot of plays that eat the clock with short gains off soft coverage. With the clock moving and the rain falling, I think this game falls under the total of 57.5.
Prediction: South Florida vs East Carolina UNDER 57.5 points (-110)
