Friday night's college football slate only has two games on tap and it's highlighted between two AAC foes doing battle as they finish out a down year for each program.

South Florida is on the road this week after the team narrowly missed a cover last week at home against SMU the game after they fired head coach Jeff Scott. Now, they back are on the road against Tulsa.

Each team is banged up at quarterback leading to a ton of uncertainty in this one. Let's check out the odds and see if there is a valuable bet to be made:

South Florida vs. Tulsa Odds, Spread and Total

South Florida vs. Tulsa Betting Trends

  • Both teams are 3-7 against the spread (ATS) this season
  • South Florida is 3-5 ATS as an underdog
  • Tulsa is 1-4 ATS as a favorite
  • Tulsa has gone OVER in four of five games
  • South Florida has gone OVER in five of eight games as an underdog

South Florida vs. Tulsa Prediction and Pick

South Florida is onto their third string quarterback in dual threat quarterback Byrum Brown after Katravis Marsh had surgery on his neck. This is a dire spot for a South Florida team that sits 1-9 on the season, but I do believe there is some cause for optimism on offense.

The team is a run first team anyway, which can make life easier for the seldom used Brown and they can attack the weak defensive line of Tulsa, which is 116th in rush success rate and has allowed the third highest explosive run rate in the country.

Tulsa has quarterback concerns of their own as Davis Brin has been in and out of the lineup due to injuries all season, and that has left a timeshare of sorts at the position between him and Braylon Braxton, two totally different players. With the change in scheme during the course of the game it's been a struggle on that side of the ball for the team as they were just shut down by Memphis and Tulane, losing by a combined score of 53-23.

Ultimately, I think USF can control this game on the ground and stay close. Tulsa's season is all but over after the team failed to qualify for a bowl game this season and USF showed some fight for their interim head coach Daniel De Prato, staying tight with SMU for a half last week.
