Spurs vs. Sixers Prediction and Odds for Saturday, October 22 (Philly To Get On Track At Home)
The Philadelphia 76ers are 0-2 and are looking for their first win this season. They’ll take on the San Antonio Spurs, who got their first win in Indianapolis last night. The Spurs put up nearly 140 points and hope to keep that offense up against one of the better defensive teams in the Eastern Conference.
With Joel Embiid struggling to get going this year, will Philly have enough at home to get its first win?
Spurs vs. Sixers Odds, Spread and Total
Spurs vs. Sixers Prediction and Pick
We’ve already had two games this season in which a team was a double-digit favorite, and both teams failed to cover the spread. However, they missed covering by a combined 4.5 points. While it is a big spread, I’m going to trust the Sixers tonight.
San Antonio is on the second night of a road back-to-back and nearly blew a 20-point lead yesterday to the Indiana Pacers. Going on the road to Philadelphia and having nobody to cover Joel Embiid is also going to be a problem – even if he hasn’t looked like his regular self through two games.
The main reason I’m backing Philly is because James Harden has looked every bit of his old self. He’s taken control of the offense and is facilitating at a high-level. If he’s playing at this level, I don’t think the Spurs will have enough defense to slow him down.
