The Paycom Center will host an explosive Western Conference showdown on Sunday night with the Spurs in town to take on the Thunder. Both teams are coming off wins, but are struggling early on this season.

The Spurs are 3-6 after Friday night’s 102-89 win over the Orlando Magic with Dejounte Murray leading San Antonio with 20 points. The Spurs were able to hold the Magic to just 39.9 percent shooting from the floor in their most impressive game of the season.

Spurs vs. Thunder Prediction and Pick

Gigeous-Alexander continues to lead this OKC team with 23.5 points per game, but it’s clear this team needs a lot more from the rest of the team. Their leading rebounder is Darius Bazley with an average of 6.2 boards per game. Not awe-inspiring numbers and that is why this team is struggling early. They entered the weekend in last place in the Northwest Division and a full five games behind the Jazz. The Thunder did show some fight against the Lakers after coming back down 19 with less than ten minutes left to play.

Despite that small spot of success, this team is in need of a lot of work. The record for these teams may be similar but the Spurs are a better team on paper. OKC did beat the Lakers twice, but they had to rally from behind in both games to do so. Also, the Lakers are struggling in a number of ways and are vulnerable this early in the season to losses to anyone.

The Spurs managed to beat the Bucks on the road already this year and I feel another road victory is on the horizon here. The Thunder is just too bad on offense and won’t be able to keep with Murray and the Spurs tonight.

Pick: San Antonio Spurs -4.0 (-110)
