It hasn't been the roaring start that the Minnesota Timberwolves had hoped for when they sent a massive haul to the Utah Jazz for Rudy Gobert. The team is 2-2 with losses to likely lottery teams in the aforementioned Jazz, as well as the San Antonio Spurs.
Now, Minnesota hosts the Spurs for the second straight game in hopes of getting revenge. San Antonio may be starting a rebuild, but they've played tough all season, going 3-1 through four games. Can they make it two in a row against the Timberwolves?

I think we see the T'Wolves round into form nicely over the next few weeks. They rank top 10 in points allowed per 100 possessions, and the offense is just below league-average. Integrating Gobert into this Twin Towers style lineup with Karl-Anthony Towns may take a few games to click, but the early returns show there is a run coming from this team as they hang in the middle of the pack.
Looking back at Monday's loss, Minnesota dug themselves a double digit hole for most of the game and needed a 35-12 fourth quarter to make the 115-106 score look nicer. By the end of the game, the box score shows a tight game on the box score and Minnesota couldn't buy a perimeter shot, hitting only eight of their 32 three-point shots.
I think we see some natural regression to the mean from both sides and the Timberwolves take control at home. They had 11 more free throws than the Spurs on Monday night, and I think they can continue to rack up freebies in this one. I'll lay it with Minnesota.
