St. John's vs. Creighton Prediction and Odds (Trust the Red Storm's Offense in this Big East Showdown)
By Matt De Saro
Big East rivals, the St. John’s Red Storm and Creighton Bluejays, are set for battle tonight at the CHI Health Center. The Red Storm are coming off an impressive 88-69 victory over Georgetown and are now sixth in the Big East with a 2-2 conference record. On the year, The Red Storm are averaging 82.5 PPG and shooting over 47 percent. Julian Champagnie is the clear leader of this team with 21.4 points and 7.2 boards per contest.
Meanwhile, the Bluejays are looking to bounce back after getting beat by Xavier in their last game 80-73. The loss dropped Creighton to 10-5 and tied for sixth in the Big East with St. John’s at 2-2. They enter this game hoping to gain some ground in the Big East and avoid a third straight loss after starting conference play 2-0.

St. John's vs. Creighton Prediction and Pick
Creighton is in a tough spot here. They have struggled in conference play, lost two in a row, and are up against a Big East rival coming off a big win. If they hope to snap out of their funk, they will have to try and limit the damage that Champagne does along with Posh Alexander, who is averaging 15.5 PPG and 5.1 dimes. Thanks to this duo, the Red Storm is the No. 8 ranked scoring offense in the nation at 82.5 PPG. Now, their defense sucks, but the Bluejays are just slightly better in that regard. But, Creighton also has a very low-scoring offense that averages 12 points less per game than their opponents. The Red Storm have their issues on defense to be sure but they looked very good against Georgetown, holding them under 70 points.
The Red Storm, despite their defensive issues, is such a dangerous team due to their explosive offense. They have already beaten Villanova and Marquette plus they almost beat UConn in their previous road game and I think are a great play on the ML as underdogs here.
Pick: St. John's +145
