Both Arizona State and Stanford are coming off upset victories in Week 5, and now have a quick turnaround with a Friday night matchup in Tempe, Arizona.

The Sun Devils have an early lead in the PAC-12 South at 2-0, while Stanford trails Oregon State by a game in the North. However, with their win Saturday over Oregon, they hold a key potential tiebreaker.

Let’s break down this Friday night showdown with odds courtesy of WynnBET Sportsbook.

Stanford vs. Arizona State Odds

Spread

Stanford: +11.5 (-110)

Arizona State: -11.5 (-110)

Moneyline:

Stanford: +350

Arizona State: -440

Total: 52 (Over -110/Under -110)

This line took off from opening at Arizona State -9.5 (-115) through two significant numbers of 10 and 11. At 11.5 I can’t recommend playing this, but I envision there being buyback on the Cardinal pushing this spread back towards 10.

The Sun Devils are poised for an emphatic victory at home mainly because their defense is arguably the best in the conference. Stanford's offense is over-reliant on explosive plays, and the Sun Devils are inside the top-third of the country in explosive pass and rush defense.

Stanford is around the national average in yards per play, but have ripped off chunk plays as they rank 8th in explosive rush rate and 34th in explosive pass play. However, Arizona State’s defensive line is going to wreak havoc all game. The Sun Devils have 36 tackles for loss through five games, 25th-best in the country.

Not to mention, ASU’s offense had no trouble running up and down the field last weekend against UCLA, averaging a shade under nine yards-per-play.

Jayden Daniels is completing 72% of his passes and the team averages more than 5.5 yards per carry, led by running back Rachaad White. This offense is dynamite and they will have no issue pushing around Stanford's defense that is outside the top 100 in defensive line yards.

This line is a bit deflated after Stanford squeaked out a win at home against Oregon, but Arizona State’s offense is going to overwhelm them from the jump. My advice would be to wait for this to dip back towards 10, even if -120, and play it there.

Pick: Arizona State -10, wait at current number
