Stanford's season is quickly unravelling as the team can't string together stops, and it may not get easier against an emerging Oregon offense.

The Ducks won a thrilling game at Washington State last week as they continue to build momentum towards a PAC-12 championship, and now host Stanford, who has lost both of their conference games by double digits. Can the Cardinal get on track in Eugene, or is Bo Nix and the Ducks going to continue their ascent?

Here are the odds from FanDuel Sportsbook:

Stanford vs. Oregon Odds, Spread and Total

Stanford vs. Oregon Betting Trends

  • Stanford is 8-17-1 against the spread (ATS) in PAC-12 play over the last three years
  • Oregon is 3-1 to the OVER this season, Stanford is 2-0-1 to the OVER against FBS competition

Stanford vs. Oregon Prediction and Pick

Stanford games have had a common theme to them: they either score 40 points or allow 40 points. They faced two elite PAC-12 opponents in USC and Washington and allowed 41 and 40 points, respectively. Now, they face a third in Oregon, who has been lighting it up since a three point effort against Georgia in Week 1.

Nix and the Ducks offense scored 41 against BYU and 44 in the come from behind win against Washington State last week. I expect the Ducks to flirt with 40 once again at home against a Stanford defense that is outside the top 100 in success rate, yards per play allowed and points allowed per drive.

Meanwhile, the Cardinal have played hard until the bitter end, pushing the ball down the field in garbage time and scraping together some points to finish the game, including last week to go over the total in Seattle.

The Ducks defense should give Stanford quarterback Tanner McKee time to throw in this matchup, the team is below the national average in tackles for loss and several key passing metrics such as yards per pass attempt allowed (108) and completion percentage (128).

I expect plenty of points in this one and a similar box score to the ones we've seen from Stanford this season. 45-27 Oregon makes sense as the game goes over the total and the Ducks win convicingly.
