Stars vs. Hurricanes Prediction and Odds (Can Dallas beat the Best Home Team in the NHL?)
By Matt De Saro
The Dallas Stars have won three of their last four games heading into tonight and are playing pretty good hockey in March. Trouble is, Dallas is on the road against the Carolina Hurricanes who are the best home team in the NHL. Carolina is tied for second-most points in the entire league at 90 with the Florida Panthers while Dallas is fifth in the Central Division with 73 points. Here are the odds for tonight’s matchup of David and Goliath, courtesy of WynnBET Sportsbook.

Stars vs. Hurricanes Prediction and Pick
The Stars were able to snap a four-game losing streak in their last game against Tampa Bay. It was an important game for Dallas as they not only won a game, but they beat a very good Lightning team. I’m not too worried about that slide and I think the Hurricane picked up where they left off before that hiccup. Before that, the Hurricanes went 10-2 straight up. Now that the Metropolitan Division leaders are back in the win column and back on their home ice, I think they are a great bet on the puck line here.
The Hurricanes allow the fewest goals per game on their home ice at 2.06 and have the third-best home point percentage in the league. Only the Avalanche and Panthers beat them. I’ll admit that their offense does need a bit of work right now. They have just two four-goal games in their last nine and haven't scored more than four since Feb. 18.
The Hurricanes are 24-5-3 at home and I don’t think that the Stars have the chops or the depth to do much about that. The Stars have a negative goal differential in March and allow almost 3.5 goals per game on average. Their offense has been keeping them afloat but that ship will sink when they go up against the Hurricanes' defense.
Lean: Hurricanes -1.5 (+100)
