Start Taking Jayson Tatum Overs With Jaylen Brown Out

The Boston Celtics have been dominant over the last 25 games, going 19-6 in that span. Their defense has stepped up and began to carry them. However, we shouldn’t overlook the offense, or one offensive player in particular.

Jayson Tatum has quietly had a great stretch. Over the last 17 games, Tatum is averaging 27.5 points per game on 48% from the field and 37% from three. Tatum is the driving force behind the Celtics’ offense and it is great to see him stepping into his potential.

For the next few weeks though, he’ll have to step up a little higher.

Jaylen Brown twisted his ankle early in the game against the Atlanta Hawks, which now leaves Tatum alone to do a lot of the scoring for the Celtics.

With this in mind, it would be smart to take the upcoming OVERs on Jayson Tatum props. For tonight’s game against the Grizzlies, WynnBET has Tatum’s points + assists line at 35+ with -110 odds. I like that number a lot considering the type of coverage Tatum might see.

If Memphis does what Atlanta did, then Tatum will be double-teamed and forced to make a pass to an open teammate. That’s going to lead to easy assists for him that can also help inflate his stat sheet if he’s having a bad shooting night. If they guard him with one man, Tatum has the isolation game to get to his spot and knock down jumpers.

Tatum is averaging 25.9 points per game on 43.3% shooting for the season. With an increased workload along with his heightened efficiency, Tatum’s overs – whether for points or for points and assists – should be looked at every night regardless of who he’s playing.
