Last season, the Cincinnati Bengals swept the season series against the Pittsburgh Steelers for the first time since 2009, on their way to the Super Bowl. Now, Pittsburgh has a new quarterback behind center and the Bengals have the highest expectations that they have had in years.

Will Joe Burrow own the Steelers the way Ben Roethlisberger owned the rest of the AFC North for so long, or will Pittsburgh bounce back with Mitch Trubisky?

Steelers vs. Bengals Prediction and Pick

The last time these teams met, Cincinnati dominated in a 41-10 win. The Bengals won both games and yet Joe Burrow didn’t throw for over 200 yards in either game. It was the defense and running game that really gave Pittsburgh issues. The Steelers scored 10 points in each of the games, but that did happen with the corpse of Ben Roethlisberger.

Pittsburgh’s offense might actually improve with Trubisky at quarterback because of his mobility. The Bengals had seven sacks and nine tackles for loss in those games last season and Trubisky has a better chance to evade Cincinnati pass rushers. Though the offensive line didn’t look improved in the preseason.

Cincinnati did improve its offensive line, adding Alex Cappa and La’el Collins to sure up the right side. The Bengals also brought back basically everyone from their Super Bowl run and will have an explosive offense.

I like the Bengals prospects for this season, but this is a real Mike Tomlin spot to start the season.

Remember last season when the Steelers upset Buffalo in Week 1?

The Bengals could have a bit of a Super Bowl hangover and I think they will be vulnerable in Week 1.  Plus Joe Burrow didn't see any action in the preseason recovering from an appendectomy.

I like this number at +6.5 for Pittsburgh but would love it if it moves through the touchdown. For now I’ll lean Pittsburgh with the points, but if this line moves throughout the week then I will be all in.

Lean: Steelers +6.5 (-110)
