The Steelers have been struggling a lot but at least they only tied the Lions. The Vikings actually lost to the chronic losers.

The Minnesota Vikings dropped the ball yesterday and got beaten by the Detroit Lions. It was Detroit’s first win since Week 13 of last season and was just the newest low that Minnesota has sunk to.

The Vikings have now lost consecutive games and are four games out of the NFC North lead behind the Packers and now their playoff hopes are gone. To make matters worse, Adam Thielen left the game with an ankle injury and his availability for Thursday night is unknown.

Meanwhile, the Steelers eked out the closest of wins over the Baltimore Ravens 20-19 at home. Pittsburgh also gave up a late touchdown that could have tied the game with an extra point. The Ravens had other ideas and went for two. Bad move as they got stuffed and ended up losing.

Steelers vs. Vikings Prediction and Pick

With their win over the Baltimore Ravens, the Steelers have technically kept their playoff hopes alive for what is expected to be Big Ben’s final season. And while I expect them to win, It won't be a walk in the park. For whatever reason, win or lose, the Vikings play very tight games. They have played just one game all year that wasn’t decided by a single touchdown or less and the Lions game was more of the same. They either do just enough to win or barely lose.

The Steelers have been pretty inconsistent and I haven’t really felt good about them in any game this season. Personally, I think Big Ben should have hung it up in the offseason and allow Pittsburgh to rebuild this year. Then again, they are mathematically in the playoff hunt so it’s not a wash just yet.

Even still, I am a bit confused by this line. I realize the Steelers have looked rough but the Vikings just lost to the damn Lions and might be without their best offensive weapon. As of Monday, I like the Steelers as road dogs here as long as Thielen doesn’t make a hasty recovery.
