Stop me if you’ve heard this before: Steph Curry is going to have a big game tonight.

I know I said that on Sunday, as well as back when the Golden State Warriors played the New Orleans Pelicans, and when Steph put up 36 points in a win against the Utah Jazz. But he went off in those games, didn’t he?

Steph’s recent run has been too hard to pass up, and WynnBET has his projected point total for Wednesday's game against the Los Angeles Lakers set at a whopping 36.5 with the over (-116) favored to the under (-104).

Curry is going to have to score 37 points, but man, I’m leaning towards him hitting the over.

Golden State has an opportunity to steal the No. 7 seed from the Lakers in the play-in tournament, and Curry already stepped up in a must-win game against the Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday. With the No. 8 seed on the line, Curry scored 46 points and shot 16-for-36 from the field to lead the Warriors to a win. Why would we expect him to do anything less in a similar situation on Wednesday?

Well, there certainly is an argument against it. Curry hasn’t scored more than 27 points in a game against the Lakers this season, and Los Angeles sports the league’s best defensive rating at 106.8. However, the Warriors haven’t played the Lakers during this hot stretch that Curry has been on.

Is that enough to roll with him to hit the over? I think it might be.

Curry is averaging 36.9 points per game over his last 24 contests, and he has scored more than 36 points in 13 of those games. He’s also attempted 24.0 shots and 14.8 3-pointers per game. It’s hard to see him not hitting those numbers again tonight.

There’s no doubt that 36.5 is a daunting projection, but this has been the norm for Steph over the past two months. If you believe in the Lakers defense, I wouldn’t blame you, but I’m going to side with the best shooter in NBA history in the midst of arguably the greatest stretch of his career.
