The Seattle Storm and Washington Mystics face off for the third time this season on Tuesday night, but Washington will be down a key player in this game.

Elena Delle Donne, the team’s leading scorer, will miss this game with an ankle injury. The Mystics come into this game in third in the Eastern Conference, but they are seriously banged up.

Washington Mystics injury report

  • Elena Delle Donne (ankle, out)
  • Natasha Cloud (ankle, probable)
  • Shakira Austin (out)
  • Kristi Toliver (foot, out)

The Storm, who have dropped their last five games, should have leading scorer Jewell Loyd (ankle, probable) for this game, but will that be enough to pull off an upset?

The Storm are tied with the Phoenix Mercury for the worst record in the WNBA, and they’ve lost three games on this five-game skid by double digits.

Let’s dive into the odds and my best bet for this contest:

Storm vs. Mystics odds, spread and total

Storm vs. Mystics prediction and pick

The first two games between these teams were extremely low scoring, finishing with 139 and 136 combined points. Yet, oddsmakers have the total for this matchup all the way up at 158.

It’s an invitation to take the UNDER, which I will.

Seattle enters this game with the worst offensive rating in the WNBA, and while it has struggled on defense as well, it should benefit in a big way from Delle Donne being ruled out.

The Mystics are losing 34.0 points per game with Delle Donne, Toliver and Austin out of the lineup, and that’s going to be hard for the team to make up. Plus, Washington is far from an elite offense when healthy, ranking eighth in the WNBA in offensive rating.

Where the Mystics thrive is on defense (No. 2 in the WNBA in defensive rating), and they held the Storm to 66 and 65 points in the first two meetings of the season.

I think we could be in line for a similar game script on Tuesday night, which sets up beautifully for an UNDER bet.
