The Seattle Storm make a cross-country trip today hoping to climb up the standings with a major win over the Connecticut Sun. Seattle is coming off a bounce back win over the Dream – ending a two game skid. The Sun, on the other hand, have won three straight and have the homecourt advantage. 

We’re getting down to the final weeks of the season before the playoffs start, and this will definitely be a game that affects the seeding. Will the Storm get a big win as an underdog or will the Sun continue their trek up the leaderboard?

This is the third time the Storm and Sun will play this year, and it’s been pretty one-sided up to this point. Connecticut has won both games by a combined 18 points, covering in both games. Seattle’s offense has been a little shaky since the All-Star break, but I’m going to put trust in its defense today. The Storm not only have the second-best defense in the league, but they also play at the second-slowest pace in the league. I trust the Storm to finally get a win by slowing down the Sun and winning a defensive battle. 

Connecticut has a great record, but it’s last three wins have come against the Liberty and the Lynx twice. They don’t have many convincing wins on the year, leading to their 14-14 ATS record. 

Nevertheless, the Sun will be a tough win for the Storm. Seattle is No. 2 in defensive rating, but Connecticut is No. 3. I see this game being more of a rock fight rather than a track meet. If the Storm can get into their style of play early – combined with the great defense on both sides – I like the UNDER in this game as well as the Storm to win.
