Best Anytime Touchdown Picks For Week 8

Brandin Cooks - Houston Texans vs. Tennessee Titans

The Tennessee Titans allow 2.2 passing touchdowns per game this season, so targeting Texans receivers could be a good option if you’re looking to bet on someone to find the end zone in their AFC South showdown in Week 8.

Brandin Cooks may only have one touchdown this season, but he’s yet to play in a game where he has seen fewer than five targets, and he’s already reached double-digit targets twice. He should feast against the Titans secondary, and I think him scoring at +160 is a great bet to make.

Dare Ogunbowale - Houston Texans vs. Tennessee Titans

Other than Brandin Cooks, there are no high level receivers in this matchup. Both teams will load up to stop the run with Dameon Pierce and Derrick Henry on either side. But when Davis Mills steps back to throw, he will have to find someone.

Last week, Dare Ogunbowale had five catches, the most of any Texan in their loss to the Raiders. He is becoming a reliable third down back and a receiving option out of the backfield.

At +1600 I love this bet for somebody who will likely get a handful of catches and maybe even a few carries. It is a longshot, but it’s time for me to swing for the fences. - Josh Yourish

Irv Smith Jr. - Minnesota Vikings vs. Arizona Cardinals

It’s a Sunday early afternoon home game for Kirk Cousins and company, and more often than not, that’s usually an auto-play for the Vikings offense, especially coming off a bye.

This week, they host a Cardinals defense that’s been plain awful vs. the tight end position, allowing 7.3 catches, 77 yards per game, and a league-high nine touchdowns.

Smith has started to see his red zone targets tick up throughout the year, and while he’s still underutilized in this Vikings offense, I wonder if the bye week might offer up more opportunities for Cousins and the coaching staff to recognize this. He’s an athletic mismatch down the field and with nobody on Arizona able to guard him in the red zone, I’m expecting a score from Smith.

Amon-Ra St. Brown (+165) - Detroit Lions vs. Miami Dolphins

It’s been a tough few weeks for the Sun God. He’s been inactive for a few games, had a bad game against the Patriots and got hurt early in the game last week. He’s good to go this week and I expect the Lions to get the ball to him early and often.

When he’s been on the field for the whole game, he’s been a difference maker. Detroit’s passing game needs some life and St. Brown is the boost it needs. – Donnavan Smoot

Kenneth Walker III - Seattle Seahawks vs. New York Giants

Kenneth Walker III has a cupcake matchup in Week 8 against the New York Giants, who allow a league worst 5.7 yards per carry this season.

Walker has scored in three straight games, including putting up a two-score game last week. He’s quickly become the favorite to win the Offensive Rookie of the Year award.

With DK Metcalf’s status for this game in question, I think Seattle leans on the running game a bit more in Week 8. – Peter Dewey

Tanner Hudson - New York Giants at Seattle Seahawks

The Giants are without starting tight end Daniel Bellinger for the foreseeable future after he suffered an eye injury, opening up the role for Hudson.

While Hudson only has three catches on the year, he will fill into Bellinger’s role, who has 16 catches and two touchdown receptions. The Giants run jumbo sets often around the goal line and Hudson will see the field on all goal line situations.

This number is far too high for someone who will get that kind of usage and potential field time. - Reed Wallach

Wan'Dale Robinson - New York Giants at Seattle Seahawks

Before exiting briefly due to injury, Robinson was getting absolutely peppered with targets last week. He ended with six catches for 50 yards on eight targets and seems to be a critical component of New York’s offense.

The Giants signaled how much they believe in Robinson by trading away former first-round pick Kadarius Toney this week, and Robinson’s odds are way too high for how much New York wants to utilize him.

Seattle's defense is 28th in opponent yards per pass attempt (7.3). Thus, I think we're in for a huge day for the former Kentucky standout.
